About the role
Smallpdf, the Zurich company behind the PDF tools used by 17 million people a month, is hiring a Data Scientist for its Product and Analytics team.
This is not a notebooks-and-models role. You own analytical products running in production: the marketing automation pipeline, core semantic data models, and the experimentation framework. You work directly with Product and Growth to design experiments, define success metrics, and turn results into decisions. There is also real data-quality and pipeline-monitoring work, closer to analytics engineering than research.
The stack is Python, SQL, dbt, and Redshift on AWS, with GrowthBook for experimentation. They ask for several years of experience in a modern product company and solid statistics and hypothesis-testing fundamentals.
The interesting part: B2C scale, with millions of monthly users generating experiment traffic, and a small autonomous team where you own outcomes end to end. Remote-friendly, with occasional in-person team meetups.
