About the role
AbbVie is hiring a Physical and Generative AI Engineer into its Strategy & Transformation function, based at an Italian manufacturing site. The role is hands-on: you will design, develop and deploy applications built on large language models and generative AI, craft and optimise prompts, and write clean, well-documented production code. You will also build rapid prototypes validating both physical (robotics) and GenAI concepts, run systematic experiments, and iterate based on measured effectiveness.
The position sits close to operations, so you will translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver scalable solutions, while mentoring colleagues and running training to raise organisational AI literacy. GMP responsibilities include collecting and organising process data, supporting configuration of AI tools for process optimisation, participating in test phases and troubleshooting, and maintaining project documentation and risk reporting.
