Principal /Staff AI Engineer - Cortex Code Agentic System

Snowflake is hiring a Staff or Principal AI Engineer for its Cortex Code team, a US based remote role. Snowflake is the AI Data Cloud, and Cortex Code builds coding agents that work directly with data.

This is the quality and systems leadership seat. You own major pillars of the quality stack, tuning agent behavior for next generation coding tasks and designing the hill climb infrastructure that supports large scale experimentation, error mining, and iteration on prompts, tools, and workflows. You lead postmortems on quality regressions, cluster failure modes, and turn findings into a prioritized roadmap. Expect to align product, infra, and applied AI on what good means, and to mentor engineers and uplevel eval craft across the team. The stack is Python, TypeScript, and Go, with strong depth in at least two.

What sets this apart is the mandate. Rather than ship one feature, you define how the whole team measures and improves agent quality in production, with reproducible runs and versioned datasets as first class concerns.
