About the role
Monte Carlo is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to build agent-powered product features on its observability platform. The company started in data reliability and is now selling agent trust: monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving production AI systems.
You own problems end to end. Research, prototype, kill what fails, then ship what works into the platform with engineering and data science. The work includes agent features such as root-cause analysis, incident triage, and monitor generation, plus evals, retrieval over customer metadata and lineage, and production tracing for quality, cost, and latency. Python is the daily language. This is backend and model-layer work, not frontend.
Highlights
- Python, RAG/retrieval, Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow as nice-to-haves
- Senior IC who has shipped autonomous agents and owned evals in production
- Remote, Americas only
- $180-240k plus equity
