About the role
Pleo, the European spend-management company (Copenhagen HQ, 850+ people), is hiring a Staff Analytics Engineer for its Data Services and Governance team.
This is a senior individual-contributor role that owns the semantic layer and analytics-engineering standards across the whole function, rather than a single domain. You would define canonical metric definitions (MRR, churn, transaction, customer), set dbt modelling standards, run the analytics-engineering community of practice, and make the data legible to AI agents and BI tools alike. The semantic layer and BI stack are early-stage, so you decide what they should be and then build them.
Highlights
- Stack: GCP, BigQuery, dbt Core, Airflow, SQL and Python, with Claude Code in the daily workflow.
- Staff-level IC: sets standards across teams by influence; prior semantic-layer ownership is non-negotiable.
- Fully remote, English-first. Applications reviewed after the 2 September 2026 close.
- Greenfield semantic layer with AI-native development as a core mandate.
