About the role
Nebius is hiring a Staff or Principal Applied AI Researcher to build an agent native search platform, described as the web access layer for AI systems. The team is designing how AI agents plan, retrieve, evaluate, and refine information in real time under strict latency and reliability constraints, serving tens of thousands of production workloads. This is a research-heavy role with ownership over applied AI direction and system design, and a strong expectation of shipping measurable production impact.
You will drive applied research across retrieval and ranking, design multi stage retrieval architectures including query understanding, rewriting, reranking, and iterative retrieval, and develop methods for grounding LLMs in real time web data at scale. The role also involves defining evaluation paradigms for agentic systems, leading.
