Engineering Manager - Data Platform

Engineering Manager role on Canonical's Data Platform team, which ships open-source multi-cloud and on-prem data stores. The team owns Big Data and MySQL, scaling them on Kubernetes and cloud machines.

You manage and code: lead a distributed team, hire, mentor, review PRs, and contribute Python/Go when needed. The stack mixes Big Data (Spark, Superset) with SQL engines and operational tooling for fault-tolerant distributed systems.

Canonical has been remote-first since 2004. EMEA/Americas time zones open, so Italy works. Twice-yearly in-person sprints in interesting locations are part of the rhythm.
