Fundamental is an AI research lab building NEXUS, a Large Tabular Model aimed at enterprise decision-making, backed by $275m in funding and used by Fortune 100 companies. This ML Researcher role sits within the Research team and centres on the full lifecycle of machine learning models, from ideation and architecture design through implementation, training, and evaluation.
You will work on novel architectures and training methods, define evaluation protocols, and build methods for efficient training and inference. The position blends research with solid engineering, so you will also help keep research code fast and testable for the whole team. Required background includes the full ML research cycle, strong Python and ML framework skills, distributed training on GPUs or TPUs, and knowledge of classical ML and deep learning.
