Sul ruolo
Oyster is hiring a Senior AI Product Engineer to improve Oyster AI, its customer and team member assistant. The role owns complex product improvements from problem definition and system design through evaluation, rollout, and production learning. Work includes agent capabilities and tools, retrieval and knowledge access, answer quality, and infrastructure, with deliberate trade-offs among model quality, latency, reliability, and cost.
This is hands-on product engineering for AI capabilities in production. You’ll build evaluation loops, diagnose failures across models and retrieval, and help establish reusable patterns across product teams through technical guidance, review, pairing, and mentoring. Oyster uses Ruby on Rails and React, but welcomes experienced AI engineers from other stacks. The team is fully remote and async-friendly, with work-from-anywhere eligibility subject to authorization where you live.
