AI Engineer - Internship (Open also to Protected Categories, Law 68/99)

Thales is hiring an AI Intern for its Navigations Air Systems domain in Gorgonzola, Italy. The role sits inside the Operations team and supports a Proof of Concept to build an AI-assisted tool that automates the first draft of an FMEA. You will parse unstructured PDF drawings and structured exports from EDA software such as Mentor Graphics and Cadence, then design a Python-based AI and data pipeline that combines NLP and computer vision techniques, including LLMs and LVMs, with graph-based methods to map circuit topologies and component relationships.

The internship also involves connecting algorithms to historical failure files so the model can predict how components such as resistors, capacitors and ICs fail in their circuit context, and structuring output into a standard FMEA format for engineer review.

Highlights
