About the role
Plata is hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager for its AI Platform team, which builds and supports internal AI platforms across the company. The manager will lead hiring, planning, delivery, and team development while staying involved in architecture and technical decisions. The role partners closely with Product, Data, AI, and platform users to turn recurring needs into reusable capabilities and take AI-powered services from concept to production.
The work includes shaping scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations, keeping platforms reliable as adoption grows, and evaluating whether to build, adopt, or extend open-source tools. Plata seeks experience leading engineering teams in AI, ML, or data-driven environments, hands-on technical judgment, and experience assessing product impact through A/B tests or other metrics.
