About the role
Supabase is hiring a FinOps Data Engineer to make cloud cost, usage, and margin data reliable and useful across its AWS and GCP footprint. The role partners with Engineering, Finance, and Product to identify savings and carry them through to measurable results. It combines hands-on pipeline development with cost analysis, forecasting, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The engineer will build BigQuery and dbt models from billing and usage data, develop cost-versus-revenue and customer segmentation models, and automate attribution, reporting, anomaly detection, and cost controls. The work also includes statistical forecasting, Python or infrastructure-as-code automation, and bringing cost considerations into architecture decisions. Supabase describes itself as fully remote and says it hires globally.
Highlights
- AWS and GCP cost optimization and governance
- BigQuery, dbt, SQL, and Python pipelines
