About the role
AI4I, the Italian Institute for Artificial Intelligence, is hiring an HPC / AI Specialist to run and tune the compute infrastructure behind its AI Foundry and Deployment activities. The environment is built on next-generation GPU systems including NVIDIA B200 accelerators and distributed storage such as VAST, with Leonardo hosting the physical hardware. The role sits at the intersection of infrastructure operations and applied AI execution, shared 50% with the new Deployment Unit.
Day to day you will operate Linux-based HPC clusters for training, fine-tuning and inference, manage GPU and CPU scheduling and resource isolation, support distributed storage for large datasets, and act as the main technical interface for internal users and industrial clients. You will help with distributed training and parameter-efficient fine-tuning, GPU memory optimization, checkpointing and data pipeline.
