AI4I, the Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence, is recruiting researchers for its AMED Lab, focused on AI for Advanced Materials and Engineering Design. The positions span postdoctoral, PhD, research fellowship, and internship levels, based on-site at OGR in Turin, Italy. The lab develops AI methods for advanced materials and engineering design, with research spanning machine learning, physics-based modeling, simulation, optimization, and intelligent material systems.

Current research directions include physics-aware AI models for multiscale simulation, surrogate modeling, and scientific discovery, AI-guided design of robotic matter and architected material systems, generative AI for advanced materials and engineering design, and AI-native approaches to multifunctional, adaptive, and intelligent materials. Candidates should have a strong background in machine learning, computational mechanics, materials science, robotics, or applied mathematics. AI4I.
