About the role
Sky is hiring a Senior Data Scientist in Milan to act as a data science lead on high-impact, cross-functional initiatives. The role is primarily a senior individual contributor position rather than traditional people management, and you will own complex projects end to end, from problem framing through production deployment. You will make methodology and technical direction decisions, develop and deploy machine learning and AI models, and translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical problems that deliver measurable outcomes.
The position sits at the intersection of business and advanced analytics, so you will partner with stakeholders, communicate complex insights clearly, and help raise the maturity of data science across the organisation. Sky also expects you to stay deeply hands-on, promote strong standards in code quality, reproducibility, and model governance, support responsible AI practices.
