About the role

Sopra Steria is hiring a Senior Databricks Data Engineer in Rome to build and improve cloud data platforms. The role designs scalable batch and streaming pipelines with Apache Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, or Scala, and supports data ingestion, transformation, and quality across Azure, AWS, or GCP environments.

The engineer will guide Medallion architecture and Delta Lake design in complex scenarios, optimize workloads, configure governance and access controls with Unity Catalog, and automate workflows with Databricks Jobs and CI/CD. The position also works with Data Scientists on MLflow model integration and with Power BI developers on curated Gold Layer datasets. The advertised gross annual salary is €33,000 to €40,000. The role is based in Rome, with smart working possible under company policy depending on the work and availability for travel required.
