About the role
WeRoad is hiring a Staff/Lead Data Engineer to guide a small data engineering team while remaining hands-on. The role owns the evolution of its BigQuery warehouse, dbt transformation and semantic layers, ingestion and orchestration, and self-service BI. Working with the Director of Data Engineering & AI and partners across Data & BI, Product, and the business, this person will translate company priorities into a data roadmap and build trusted insights across markets.
The position also sets engineering standards, owns delivery and team development, and drives data quality, governance, observability, and AI adoption. WeRoad lists a permanent, full-time contract and accepts candidates based in its legal entities in Italy, Spain, Germany, France, or the UK. The role may be fully remote or hybrid in Milan.
